Interesting article over at the BBC about how technology could transform bank branches.
The article talk about how Accenture have designed a bank ‘branch of the future’ that uses RFID tags to follow customers as the enter and move around a branch. The aim is to provide customers with a better service by knowing more about them.
I don’t know about you…but the last time I was in a bank branch was about 4 years ago - and I was closing my Lloyds current account. Since then I bank at smile and although I’m pretty happy with them, in general I want my bank knowing as little as possible about what I get up to!
Anyway - if this Zopa thing works out, we might need them even less than we do at the moment - here’s hoping :-)
