I stumble upon you via USwitch.co.uk and have just borrowed £1100 to pay off 2 credit cards. Have just got to say that everything about you is just perfect. On the day that Virgin credit cards recieved my payment to clear the balance i had a call from them to offer me 0% balance transfers to which i replied “no thanks i’d like to close the account” to which they instantly offered 8% for life on my credit card to which i again replied “no thanks i’ve moved to Zopa you underhanded money grabbing ********.” I cannot believe that they can just half the interest rate at the drop of a hat. I loathe that kind of approach and have sworn never to use them again.

Timbo - Hopefully it’s not that inaccessible? It’s linked from every page on the site in the footer, from the homepage via the news ticker on the left hand side and from the About Zopa section! Where else would you suggest?

Also, we’re open to suggestions on what we should write about - we love a bit of controversy…and I hope we’re not too corporate - are we?

I think it’s a great idea. One of the things that strikes me about Zopa is “people helping people”. So what if I’ve lent out a bit of cash? I’d like to know how someone is getting on with their new kitchen. Or if someone is getting a better night’s sleep because they’ve now got a manageable payment towards their debts? It’s not just about money.

COMPLETELY inaccessible off the main site, but exactly what you should be doing…

Put your backs into it…get some controversy going, spark some debate, and being so damned ‘corporate’.

I think it’s a great feature which as a lender myself is nice to see. I hate to say it but there is unfortunately the problem of people who might write something really endearing but which is in fact a load of old cobblers! Do you have a porky pie checker similar to your credit checker?! But still, a very humanising feature and I don’t see any worries about the need for complete anonymity - partial anonymity is enough.
