I have to agree with luke on this one. Zopa are paying people to advertise their website for them without cost if nobody signed up. So they win and win again.

Zopa looks like a brilliant concept and I wish it well, think I might join just become an affiliate.

Luke keep trying with affiliate schemes!!!

Charles... that's not exploitation, that's what the affiliate scheme is for. People are making nice livings from the google adwords programme and affiliate schemes. I tried it once but my lack of capital and experience saw me end the project early.

Of course Zopa are always going to come out on top in this arrangement but it's nice for opportunists (aren't we all?) to make hay while the sun shines.

Thanks for the spot Charles.

At the moment we are not actively buying ads on Google, so at this stage it is in fact helpful for people to do this. They are not directly competing with us and pushing our own bids any higher.

Of course at such time that we do start buying ads on Google we may have to revise the terms of the scheme, but thanks again for highlighting it to us for now. We'll keep an eye on it.

I notice that this scheme is already being exploited because £30 is more than the cost a google ad. So, Google for Zopa and ad(s?) appear saying "Zopa Join now, start borrowing or lending and get £30. www.zopa.com" the link then goes to http://www.zopa.com/ZopaWeb/affiliate/?referral=Sels
