The Zopa water feature!

Looks like someone read our little piece over there on the left about how we don’t believe in expensive and fancy water features - and decided to sort something out for us!

This is the new Zopa water feature - a solar powered bird bath :)

Unfortunately - it doesn’t work :(

There is supposed to be a lovely fountain burbling away in the middle that’s powered by the solar cells you can see on top - but alas, it does not.

We’d love to get this working - so any suggestions gratefully received, and we’d also love to know who sent it to us, so we can say ‘Thank you!’ (and possible get one that works?)

If you’re our generous benefactor, then please drop me a line at dave@zopa.com, or let us know in the comments - ta!

UPDATE: Mystery solved - it’s all Justin’s fault. Well, sort of. His girlfriend (Who is one half of Living Gardens) ordered it for one of her clients, and sent it to the office. Without telling us. :) Anyway - that explains where it came from, and where it vanished to the other day - and there was us thinking the nice people next door might have nicked it. Sorry!

Maybe you need to put it in the sunshine? ;)

Sorry to cause so much trouble…I’ve just rung the client and it doesn’t work so we may have to get another one sent to Zopa!

What happens if the birds want a bath on a cloudy day?

UK Water Features

Some of the solar powered features can be a little tricky to get going - the instructions aren’t always great. If it’s got a battery (that charges with the sun) you may need to connect up the wires inside the battery compartment. If there aren’t any batteries, you may just need to turn up the sun ;)

Hope you get it sorted!

Water Features 2 Go

There are quite a few companies who now import solar water features from China. A few of the Chinese suppliers are quite dodgy and there product quality isn’t fantastic. The solar panels sometimes simply do not work, and if they have battery backup the ac adaptors can blow.

Solar powered water features can be a great idea, sometimes they need a little charging to get going, but as long as the suns out and there is enough charge in the battery you have a great feature that you can enjoy without worrying about power consumption!
