Yummy treats at Zopa

Here at Zopa we like to try weird and wonderful things. In July our nice friends at Gu sent our weight in chocolately treats, which we all very much enjoyed. Then on Friday we had a nice surprise from @loudmouthman who brought us a rather odd surprise in the form of Marmite Chocolate (Yes, you heard right. Marmite Chocolate!) which was made just for him by @mrsimmshorsham. However odd it may sound, it was in fact rather yummy! (Though Steve may say the opposite!) Nic recorded a video of his day out in London with the chocolate which you can see our reactions at the end. So, Marmite, love it or hate it? We do love to try new things here at Zopa, so if you have something you want some honest feedback with (or just fancy sending us a yummy present) please pop us an email or give us a call.

The Zopa water feature!

Looks like someone read our little piece over there on the left about how we don't believe in expensive and fancy water features - and decided to sort something out for us! This is the new Zopa water feature - a solar powered bird bath :)
Unfortunately - it doesn't work :( There is supposed to be a lovely fountain burbling away in the middle that's powered by the solar cells you can see on top - but alas, it does not. We'd love to get this working - so any suggestions gratefully received, and we'd also love to know who sent it to us, so we can say 'Thank you!' (and possible get one that works?) If you're our generous benefactor, then please drop me a line at dave@zopa.com, or let us know in the comments - ta! UPDATE: Mystery solved - it's all Justin's fault. Well, sort of. His girlfriend (Who is one half of Living Gardens) ordered it for one of her clients, and sent it to the office. Without telling us. :) Anyway - that explains where it came from, and where it vanished to the other day - and there was us thinking the nice people next door might have nicked it. Sorry!

Mmmm….back to work

Blimey. You go away to get married for a few weeks, and come back to find the blog's been taken over by poisonous cous-cous (Yes I suffered as well...), dodgy ping pong films, crop circles and Zopa in spaaaaaaaaaaaaaace........ Thanks to Tom, Chris and Richard to filling in while I was away, but normal service will now be resumed :) One of my to do items since I've got back is to make the office a nicer place to be - no mean feat as you'll know if you've ever been to Zopa towers. We have a somewhat overcrowded, male dominated, non airconditioned, under toilet provisioned office...with a fridge that takes me back to my student days. Which isn't a good thing. In short, it's not the worlds nicest office - but we want it to be. So, we're clearing out the junk, throwing away the dead plants, getting out some paint, buying a new coffee machine and toaster and putting up the Zopa hammock I brought in Mexico. But - I'm sure there's more we could do. Over to you dear reader - what's the nicest office you've worked in? What made it great? What would you do to the Zopa office to make a more hospitable enviroment?
