November has already flown by and the countdown to Christmas is imminent. With less than month to go it seems the perfect time to discuss how we’ll all be getting our shopping sorted this year. I for one did decide to get everything done early however since I haven’t bought a single present yet it seems like it’ll end up being like every other year where I have to rush out on Christmas eve to get those (few) final things.
What I have planned however is to get as much of my shopping as possible done online. It takes the stress out of facing Oxford Street and means you can browse in peace and quiet if you just want to get some gift ideas. Having said that I do love shopping in Covent Garden, the decorations are always beautiful and there are stalls selling spiced apple juice and mince pies which give me that warm Christmas feeling in my tummy!
My problem then lies with finding the perfect gifts for friends and family, I personally find my dad the hardest person to buy for, you want to get a gift they’ll treasure or at least use and so this year I have a plan in mind if I don’t get any better brain waves, Vintage Wine Gifts has a huge selection and you can even buy vouchers if you can’t decide on what their favourite tipple would be. They’ve also got £5 off any order at the moment using the voucher code: latour2000.
My brother’s always end up with computer games or DVDs therefore I’m sure Amazon will be raking in a lot of money from me this Christmas. Ordering presents online will force me into getting it all done sooner as with the postal strikes I will have fears of not receiving anything in time. I may also take any company’s offer of gift wrapping since every year I seem to have more and more to do, my family have learned I’m very good at wrapping presents and therefore I wrap everyone’s presents except my own.
For friends or relations who I run out of inspiration for Gettingpersonal.co.uk is a site filled with loads of stocking filler ideas as well as all those gifts for people who already have everything. I’m eyeing up the ‘Grow your own Christmas Tree’. You can also get 10% off everything using the voucher code: TEN.
The Bespoke Gift Company is also offering 10% off with the voucher code: GORGEOUS. They have among other things a range of ‘gift experiences’ like a Health Club Day Pass which I know would be the ideal thing for me after a hectic Christmas!
Now the only thing I need to help with my count down is an advent calendar (eating a piece of chocolate every morning will definitely make me realise time I don’t have much time left), and of course to make my decisions on what presents to get for everyone!
